agonizing over websites to put in a bio link
At some point I wasn't feeling the link in my bio anymore and started looking for different options for a personal page. These are what I saw around and I've tried a few. Unless stated otherwise, all of these are optimized for mobile and their base features are free.
Landing pages
- carrd.co - Clean interface, simple to customize, fits most people's needs.
- about.me
Link focused - linktr.ee
- lit.link/en - Based in Japan but there's an English mode. It's more customizable than Linktree.
Hosts for coding your own website - neocities.org - Currently booming? The cons are that a lot of websites have poor accessibility, aren't mobile responsive, and you might just not be into the 2000s style, but there are ways to make a modern looking site if you want to.
- github.io - Can be hard to use if you're starting from 0 coding experience, but it's modern and you'll probably learn something useful out of it. There are also themes out there that are easy to install and use.
Drag and drop collages - straw.page - This has a cute drawing widget.
- mmm.page
- univer.se
- hotglue.me - Built for desktop. Probably the best if you want to make something like a Neocities site without needing to code, since you can make a lot of pages with many elements for free.
Plain text - rentry.co
- txto.eu.org - This is based on txti.es, which shut down in July 2023.
- profcard.info - Japanese and requires a Twitter account.
- twpf.jp - Japanese and requires a Twitter account.
- listography.com
